The Declaration of Security (DoS) is a bilateral instrument executed between the Ship Security Officer (SSO) and the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) before vessel operations commence at the port facility. It is separate from the SR-PAI and must be executed at the port, not before arrival. Both parties must initial the activities table and sign the declaration.

4. Security Responsibilities — Activities Table
✍️ The SSO initials the Ship column and the PFSO initials the Port Facility column for each activity they agree to perform. Both sets of initials confirm the activity will be done in accordance with the relevant approved plan. Enter initials in each applicable cell — leave blank only if the activity does not apply to this port call.

6. Declaration and Certification

The signatories to this agreement certify that security measures and arrangements for both the port facility and the ship during the specified activities meet the provisions of SOLAS Chapter XI-2 and Part A of the International Code for the Security of Ships and of Port Facilities, and that they will be implemented in accordance with the provisions already stipulated in their approved plan or the specific arrangements agreed to and set out herein.

I further declare that this Declaration of Security is made in respect of the specific port call, vessel, and port facility identified above, and covers only the period and activities specified. A superseding DoS shall be executed in the event of any change in security level or security incident during the port call.
